Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we will be focussing on creating connecting opportunities for students, staff, parents and community members, ultimately enhancing student wellbeing and readiness to learn.

We are doing this to reinforce students as citizens in the school and local community, each with responsibilities towards each other and their school. Students will explore their role in maintaining healthy relationships and accepting accountability for their words and actions.

Key Actions or Strategies

  • Throughout this school year we will be:

    • Promoting and assisting in restorative practices to support students with positive conflict resolution and relationship building.
    • Developing a stronger sense of inclusion and connectedness to school and student’s role as citizens through social justice initiatives.
    • Engaging the school and local communities in events aimed at fostering a strong home/school connection and strategies to support the needs of child development.

Community and Home Connections

    • Ask your child about what they enjoyed about their school day and what was something that made themselves proud.
    • Try modeling self-regulation and respectful communication at home with your child. This will help your student navigate social situations and advocate their feelings in a positive manner.
    • Check out the Eastdale Wellness Brochure. This resource is for families and students to access resources and information to support mental health and wellbeing in the local area.
