Eastdale Public School

2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Planlearning triangle

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we will be focussing on fostering student mental health and a strong sense of belonging and citizenship, helping students to be a contributing member of the school community.

We are doing this to reinforce students as citizens in the school and school community, each with responsibilities towards each other and their school. Students will explore their role in maintaining healthy relationships and accepting accountability for their words and actions and working towards community goals.

Key Actions or Strategies

Throughout this school year we will be:

  • Creating a school-wide, unified approach to fostering all students to become contributing members in their school community, with focus on excellence, citizenship, leadership and safety.

  • Promoting and assisting in restorative practices to support students with positive conflict resolution, relationship building and mental health.
  • Developing a stronger sense of inclusion and connectedness to school and providing opportunities for students to participate in enhancing their community.

Community and Home Connections

  • Ask your child about what they found challenging at school today and how they overcame the challenge.
  • Try modeling positive coping strategies at home with your child. This will help your student to adopt a resilient mindset and work towards de-stigmatizing tools to support mental health.
  • Check out this resource from School Mental Health Ontario that supports students’ development of stress management and coping skills.
